Word Unscrambler

Type the letters from your rack, puzzle or jumble and the Word Unscrambler lists the words that can be built from them — longest words first. Each result uses only the letters you entered, and no letter is ever used more times than you supplied it.

LetterTrove uses one general English word list — a filtered version of dwyl/english-words (words_alpha.txt), derived from the Moby/Infochimps English word data, kept to lowercase words of 2–12 letters. Common, recognisable words are listed first within each length group, and two-letter results are limited to recognised everyday English. We don’t claim every entry is common modern English or valid in any particular word game. See the About page for full source details.

How to use the Word Unscrambler

  1. Enter your letters (2–12, a–z) in the box above.
  2. Optionally set a minimum or maximum word length to narrow the results.
  3. Press Unscramble to see the matching words, grouped by length.

Because results are checked letter-by-letter against your exact input, you will never see a word that needs a letter you do not have — handy for jumble puzzles, anagram games and word-app practice.
